Quality Supervisors Network (QSL)

The QSL network was founded in 2009 to continuously improve the quality of study programmes and teaching at the University of Wuppertal. Since then, around 25 BUW employees have been working continuously on the further development of the degree programmes and the improvement of the general study situation.

The quality assurance officers (QAAs) fulfil specific tasks depending on the faculty. They support the faculty management in the organisation and planning of teaching and in the optimisation of study conditions. The QSLers coordinate and support (re-)accreditation procedures to ensure the quality of individual degree programmes, the Bologna Check and the Day of Studies and can be members of the central and decentralised Quality Improvement Commission. The QSLs are also contact persons for the student councils.

The QSLs have completed a degree in the respective subject area and continue to qualify themselves through relevant further training in the field of quality assurance. They coordinate their work as quality assurance officers in regular cross-faculty meetings.

Feedback / ideas / complaints?

The quality officers are available to students in particular for concerns and questions relating to the quality of teaching and study conditions. They mediate in the event of conflicts between students and teaching staff, the administration or central institutions. They are the contact persons for concerns and questions relating to studyability and study conditions, such as subject counselling, study planning or the creation of timetables. Further information on the responsibilities and tasks of the quality officers can be found on the faculties' homepages.
